Description
Common Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis) — A hardy deciduous tree with a rounded crown, attractive textured bark, and small leaves that turn yellow in fall. Known for its exceptional adaptability, drought tolerance, and resilience, it is an excellent choice for shade trees, streetscapes, and naturalized landscapes. Low maintenance and long lived, it performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. Mature size: 15–25 m (50–80 ft) tall × 10–15 m (30–50 ft) wide.
