Description
Common Prickly Rose (Rosa acicularis) — A hardy native shrub known for its fragrant pink flowers, attractive rose hips, and exceptional cold tolerance. Blooming in early summer, its single pink flowers attract bees and other pollinators, while the bright red hips provide food for birds and winter interest. With its natural spreading habit and tolerance of challenging conditions, Common Prickly Rose is well suited for native plantings, wildlife gardens, naturalized areas, and erosion control. Performs best in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a variety of soils. Mature size: 1–1.5 m (3–5 ft) tall × 1–2 m (3–6 ft) wide.
