Swamp White Oak
Latin Name: Quercus bicolor
Description
Swamp White Oak (Quercus bicolor) — A large, long-lived deciduous oak known for its rounded crown, strong branching, and adaptability to a range of soil conditions. It features glossy dark green leaves with silvery-white undersides, attractive peeling bark on younger branches, and yellow-brown to golden fall colour. Unlike the name suggests, this oak does not require swampy conditions and performs well in many landscape settings, especially where moisture availability is higher. Excellent for parks, large properties, restoration plantings, and wildlife landscapes. Performs best in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. Mature size: 18–25 m (60–80 ft) tall × 12–18 m (40–60 ft) wide. Various sizes available, please click on top right-hand corner to see our partial availability.
