Description
Yellow Buckeye (Aesculus flava) — A large, attractive deciduous tree known for its rounded crown, excellent shade potential, and striking seasonal interest. It features large palmate leaves, clusters of creamy yellow flowers in spring that attract pollinators, and smooth gray bark that develops character with age. In fall, the foliage turns shades of yellow to orange, and it produces shiny brown seeds enclosed in husks. An excellent specimen tree for parks, large landscapes, and open spaces. Performs best in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. Mature size: 18–25 m (60–80 ft) tall × 12–18 m (40–60 ft) wide.
